How to reach the event

All participants should book their travel to Spetses themselves. There are two alternative ways of getting to Spetses Hotel (see below). The following information is for guidance only.

More information about the island can be found on the following websites:
http://www.spetsesdirect.com  and
http://www.greeka.com/saronic/spetses/spetses.htm

Option 1. Cheaper, but longer

1A. Fly in to Athens Airport

1B. Get from Athens Airport to Piraeus Harbor

From Athens airport to Piraeus port, you have three modes of transportation to choose from, a public bus, a metro line and the standard taxis. Taking a taxi is the fastest and most convenient transfer option, but costs 55-75€. A cheaper option is the bus, which costs only 5.5 €, but takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. The final transfer option is the metro. This mode of transport costs 9 € one-way and takes around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Piraeus port. Detailed, up to date information on each of these options can be found by following the link: https://www.welcomepickups.com/athens/airport-transfer-to-piraeus/ .

1C. Piraeus to Spetses Ferry

There are 2 hydrofoil companies Hellenic Seaways and Euroseas-Eurofast-1.

Piraeus - Spetses sailing durations and frequency may vary from season to season so we would advise doing a live check to get the most up to date information. Travel times vary depending on the mode of transport and number of stops but can take anything from 2 - 3 hours.

1D. Get from Spetses Harbor to Spetses Hotel

Upon arrival at Spetses harbor, you have several options to get to the hotel.

(i) The easiest would be to take a walk along the shoreline (northwest bound, approx. 1.2 km) - a pleasant 15 min of getting to know that area of the island. If arriving on Monday September 30th, look at the pier for the SPETSES HOTEL shuttle. It will take your luggage to the hotel.

(ii) A water taxi (departing from Spetses harbor) will bring you to Spetses Hotel in about 3 min (appr. 20 €)

(iii) A cab would take about 5 min (and approx. 8-10 €).

Option 2. Quicker, but more expensive

The easiest way to get to Spetses is to take a taxi directly from the airport to the town of Kosta (just opposite the island of Spetses). Remember to fix the price before you start the trip (it will be around 300€). You can directly contact the reception of Spetses Hotel to arrange the transport.

2A. Fly in to Athens Airport
2B. Take a Taxi to Kosta
2C. Take a boat to Spetses Hotel
